Christopher J. Dossin 1955 – 2016
We received the sad news this weekend of the premature death of access industry veteran Chris Dossin, who has died following a short but aggressive illness.
He passed away on Thursday April 14th having been diagnosed only six weeks
earlier with stage four pancreatic cancer. He was 60.

His career in aerial lifts probably began as a sales representative with leading scissor lift manufacturer Economy Engineering, which was later acquired by Snorkel, then part of Figge. He moved to Skyjack in 1990 to head up sales, marketing and business development under founder Wolf Haessler. He remained with the company for more than 19 years, moving in where he was employed for 19 years. He then joined Custom Equipment as vice president sales and marketing less than a year later he left to set up his own business High Reach Solutions.
In 2014 he re-joined Wolf Haessler as director of business development at WolfLift to help develop and market the radical alternative to a conventional scissor lift. The radical nature of the product proved too much of a challenge and was closed late last year.

In the meantime he also branched out in to medical development and introduced an innovative method to help patients with the reminders and timing of the various medications they have to take. The device called Mem-O-Ring was patented and won at least one award. He was also an accomplished toastmaster.
Chris was gentle man, always consistent, tolerant and methodical. He was not always lucky in his ventures, or job choices but was always diligent and professional, and a true gentleman. As soon as we the funeral details we will add them to this item.

Chris has worked with me at Skyjack and WolfLift for many years and hearing of his sudden, untimely death was a true shock to me and many others in the industry who have known him for his gentle and compassionate manner. Chris did a great job introducing Skyjack into important market areas in the US and Europe. My condolences and words of support go out to his wife Tamara and his family. We have lost a kind and wonderful, man much too soon.

I feel sadness when a life like Chris's of dedication endeavor and innovation is cut short. His efforts toward his interests and trials prove the Vertikal editorial Leigh Sparrow penned in February about the ever present challenge of finding leaders in our industry. Prayers are being said for Chris's family and colleagues.

This is very sad news about Chris. A true gentleman in every sense of the word. Chris was a good friend and I am proud to have known him both as a colleague and friend. He gave me a great opportunity to join Skyjack via Amador in the early 90's and taught me a lot as he did many. The industry has lost a true professional and a great guy.
My thoughts are with Tamara and Chris's family.
